Please excuse me and i hope i dont piss any one off,(im sure you get guys like me all the time)I just need some advice.I am a 36yo guy 5'9 in height, dripping wet i weight in at 170lb.Finally after years off the 'skinny jokes'i have decided to do something about it and try to bulk myself up. I have dumped everything out of my garage and replaced it with some gym equipment.I haven't lifted a weight yet as i have been concentrating on my diet.After reading this forum and many like it i have taken steps to eat the best i can.I have cut out all the fast food and beer over the last couple of weeks,loaded my self with plenty of good protien and will start lifting from the 1st August.I have purchased what protein and carb supplements i can and think i am ready to go.Like i said i dont want to piss any off you vets off but the question i have is...after a few weeks of learning how to lift and eat properly what "real harm" would it do me in taking some "Gear".Dont get me wrong i will not just buy the first thing that comes along,i am taking time to read the forum for advice but as i have no base to build on i am just wondering will i be wasting my money.I have been to the Doc lately at he has given me a health check and said that everythings fine.The bottom line is,will i do myself any damage just simply because i am just starting off?I was hoping someone would reply with the true facts as what would happen and not just telling me to wind my neck in and train for a year or so then come back.i do intend to give this 100% of effort ...

With no experience like you, gear shouldn't be an option.

For one, its best to reach some form of natural size before starting AS anyway for your tendons etc to adapt to the new stresses. As as beginner you will seriously grow from a clean diet & good training and rest.

Train for at LEAST 6 months, and see how your progressing. I've been training 3 years and only just began my first cycle yesterday. Over the 3 years i've had a lot of natural growth and only just reached certain pleateus (not saying i cant break them naturally).

Just gotta be patient. After 6 months even, people won't advise you start on AAS, but your going to do what your going to do

if you were younger i would agree with some of the posts. its better to build up natural and give your tendons time to get strong. using aas for the first time, you will make some huge gains in strength which could result in injury. being 36 your natural test levels will be down some so other than some hormone replacement i'd stay away for at least 6 months.
Thing about going natural at first is when you screw up and use bad form your not lifting the kind of weight you would be after 5 weeks test at 500mg a week, and the injuries won't be as bad. start using test at 500mg a week and tear a pec your screwed. the best advice i could give you is to have some bllod work and see where your test level is now. if i were you and wanted to use gear i would regardless of what anyone had to say. i'd say nore more than 250mg test e every 7 or 8 days. good luck
