when injecting yourself....

Do you push the needle in like you are tossing a dart or do you rest the needle on your skin and then push? Push slowly or moderately? I have to do this for the first time since g/f is out of town...don't want to fuck it up. Anxiety sets in when I get the pin ready..can't do it just yet. I know..wuss but I just wanna be sure!!!

What I've always done is put the needle up to the skin, then slowly penetrate. If I were to give it to you in seconds, I would say about 3 or 4 sec for a 1" needle.

I don't believe in jabbing a needle in, and don't understand why someone would want to do it that way.

Same here bro. If you just slowly apply pressure then the needls just slides in all the sudden.


I've NEVER been able to just jab it in.

yes, I usually spread the skin before I insert the dart. When you insert it, make sure to leave just a tiny bit of needle showing; don't push it completely in, this way if anything happens and the needle breaks, you can grab it with a pair of pliers and yank it out; not likely, but better safe than sorry. Also, don't forget to aspirate before injecting

i've always "darted" the needle in; not super fast though. i've experienced that if i go slow i can "feel" the puncture more.

When I first started to use injectables years ago, I used to rub ice cubes on my ass, shoulder, outer quad, or wherever I was injecting at the time. I usually inject in the buttocks or shoulders though. I still do it sometimes, and this preperation always worked great. I always use an alcohol swab though on the point of entry right before and after the inject. The idea of spreading or giving the site a slight pinch would usually help the needle go in easier. I always go in slow, and leave a little pin sticking out (just short of all the way)

I used to "dart" it in but had an unbelievably painful experience with a quad shot.

I hit a nerve, but it was to late, I was going to fast. Going in slow and easy would have saved me a TON of pain.

19 times out of 20 putting it in quick will be fine but damn that one time sure shook me up.

Now I just gently push it in.

LOL I just had one break about 3 weeks ago, I was going into the glute and the fucker broke, I had fucking blood shooting out the pin like a fire hose, I ran to the garage and got a needle noise pliers and pulled it out. some scary shit, but I always jab that fucking dart right in, except when I go int calves, or tries it hurts to much as it is, good luck bro
