Andy Pettitte met last Tuesday in Washington with federal prosecutors who are investigating whether Roger Clemens perjured himself last year when he told Congress he had never used steroids or human growth hormone.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel Butler and Steven Durham are supervising a Washington grand jury that is examining evidence gathered in the year-long investigation into whether Clemens lied during a deposition and a hearing on the Mitchell Report. [...]


Pettitte declined to discuss whether he had met with federal prosecutors or the grand jury after reporting to Steinbrenner Field in Tampa for spring training Friday.

"I can't talk about that," Pettitte said. His attorneys, Jay Reisinger and Tom Farrell, declined comment.
