Blood doping charges against Austria Humanplasma lab in Vienna dropped Doping charges against blood lab dropped USA Today Prosecutors in Austria dropped charges against two unidentified doctors who allegedly used a blood lab to help athletes use doping products.
No evidence was found that the doctors used the Humanplasma lab in Vienna for blood doping, prosecution spokesman Gerhard Jarosch said Tuesday.
Jarosch said several athletes were being heard by prosecutors but declined to give their names or sport.
The investigation into the Humanplasma lab started more than a year ago after the World Anti-Doping Agency said it believed the facility was being used for systematic blood doping by athletes.
Austrian and German media published a list of 31 biathletes and cyclists, mainly from Austria, Germany and the Netherlands, who were accused of visiting the lab during off-hours on Sunday mornings to have their blood enriched. ... More... |
