When i'm doing bench press and shoulder presses i have a lot of strength when I start my range of motion, about half way up I lose all of my strength for about 3-4 inches, then my strength comes back. I have really long arm. anyone have advice on how to get rid of this dead spot? Partial Reps? Forced Reps?

Tate presses are also very good at directly strengthening the tricepts throw them in along with the board presses. Putting some effort into those over a training cycle should improve your lift. You might also review your technique by having someone video you with a digicam for a series of lifts - I'd do some light ones as well as heavy so you can judge if your technique breaks down under heavy weight/close to failure or whether there is something consistently wrong that can be addressed.
