Could someone please help me out. On the tricpep dip machine in my gym you can set the handles to a close grip or a wie grip. Now I always persumed that wider grip hit more chest and the closer grip hit the triceps more. Could someone please confim this and maybe properly explain the difference. Cheers |

never used one before but like chip said, if you lean forward you will change it to primarily a chest exercise. Stay straight up and down to focus on the tri's. I am sure those who have used a dip machine can comment on width of grip. I would prefer shoulder width. Quote:

For me, when I'm targeting my triceps, I'll keep my legs straight up & down. This seems to keep my torso from leaning forward. For chest, I'll bend my knees and cross my ankles behind me, which tilts me forward. Great exercise!
