Default Dislocated Collarbone

Gentlemen,

I recently injured my clavicle by a combo of heavy deadlifting and basketball. I was deadlifting 405lbs and then played a tough basketball game in a league I am in. I visited a doctor, he said I dislocated my clavicle. He also told me not to lift or play basketball for awhile or until a sports medicine doctor looks at more closely. I played basketball the next day and did triceps in the gym. It hurt a great deal still, so I actually listened and haven't done anything since last Wednesday.

I need to get back in the gym though because I am going nuts not lifting. If i go super light and high reps, would that be enough to get me by until this damn thing recovers? I will stay completely away from back and chest because that just irratates the injury more.

I should preface this by saying I'm not a doctor of any kind, nor a physical therapist, or even a certified trainer.

That being said, I usually trust credible, elite coaches who've worked with thousands of athletes and understand how the body recovers...and not a general practice doc.

Were I to have a serious problem, I would talk to JS or Louie Simmons. They're about the best in America right now and for some reason, they love to give out free (yet awesome) advice.

Since JS doesn't post here much right now, I'd talk to Louie Simmons. His phone number is available through his website. Explain your situation, he will be very helpful.

Don't feel shy, he talks to total strangers on a daily basis.
