Default Funny story on a friends HST results

So a few months ago a buddy of mine from back home was wanting to get back into lifting(he has never seriously lifted neways). I told him to just do some basic lifts for a month or so and I would put him on a program.
After that time i put him on an HST type program. He doesnt have a power rack and there are no gyms around us so he did what exercises he could. I didnt put much time in at all b/c i know this guy drinks all the time and never follows through.
I saw him last week and asked him how he liked HST. He was like its alright. Nothing big. Than he started talking about what he was lifting. This guy is 5'8 or 5'9 and was around 160. The most he has ever benched was around 190 even doing programs he paid a lot of money for.
At the end of his HST he weighed 180 and was benching 230 or 235 and he thought the program was alright??? Keep in mind that he takes absolutely no supplements and drinks beer on a daily basis and still had amazing gains IMO especially knowing his previous history of making no gains. Just thought some of u might get a kick out of this

sounds to me like a guy who's just to arrogant and cocky to admit you hit him up with a good program. though as you stated he has nothing to be arrogant about!

remember you can do that kind of shit when you have never really lifeted before. i remember when i first got into it when i was 16, i was 5' 10" 135lbs. i started lifting/eating religiously and within 6 months i weighed 160lbs. now i have to bust ass for about 6 months just to put on 5 lbs.

well the thing is that he has lifted b4. Many times he will put in 3-4 months i would say and had nver gotten over 190 in bench and 160 is his highest weight by far. He is 31 years old also. Than he did HST, diet of alcohol and the same amt of food and he put on 40 lbs to his bench and 20 pounds of weight. HE doesnt squat or deadlift either. Like i said, i dont put any time in him at all though. Hell he has probably quit lifting again already. Just thought it was funny hearing how he thought it was just alright when he was so much stronger than he has ever been

no shit, hes got the best frigging genetics in the world and the little bastard doesnt even realize it. btw, i know the type. i have a few friends that will call me and want to "start lifting" so i will help them out a little but dont put much time into them because i know they'll quit within a week or two. im proud to say that i havent missed more than a week of lifting since i was 16. ive been lucky so far in the injury department, nothing serious as of yet

hope that continues. This friend of mine will be done soon. He has nver kept it up. I guess he just bought some protein. Said he got a better deal than where i told him to go. Well now he is pissed b/c he saw it will only last him 16 days or some shit. He always does retarded shit like that.

Hope u stay injury free. Injuries are the only reason i looked to this side of lifting and I was 26 I believe. Been lifting since a very young age but only started getting it figured out to some extent the last few years
