Default Home gym equipment

Awhile ago I remember a few guys mentioning that they bought home gym equipment from New York Barbells (I think Bob Smith was one of them). Do any of you have any feedback about the quality?

I'm thinking about purchasing the Super Power Rack for $399 which I think is a good price. And the shipping is free which is cool. It's not the biggest rack NY Barbell has, but it looks like a great rack for a home gym at a reasonable price.

Does anyone have any experience with NY Barbells equipment that they can share with me?

I have purchased several things from NYBB and ahve nothing bad to say about them.

If the rack you are looking at is an enclosed rack, make sure that the front to back distance is acceptable to you. I bought one for my wife to use at home and it is too short front to back for me to feel comfortable squatting in it. The one at my gym has more room and I am used to it.

Yeah, that was something I was concerned about. The rack at my gym is not enclosed so I don't really know what works best for me. However, the cage is 33 inches from post to post. That seems like enought room for me to do squats, etc.

Thanks for the feedback MCM. Anyone else?

I bought my rack for NYBB and like it. I think its the normal power rack, not the super. Overall its a very good rack for home use, unless youre pushing like 600+ pounds. Then if nothing else I would prefer different hooks for the bar to rest on. Otherwise it serves its purpose very well and there is plenty of room front-to-back to squat.

NYBB all the way! I got the Sumo Rack and Super Bench a while back and it served me well back when I was doing personal training. The Super Bench isn't as good as it could be, so go with something else.

But now that I'm not training anyone anymore,I just use my trusty power rack. Still gonna order some new equips from NYBB though.

I use them as well. I've purchased a rack, barbell, handles, and bands from them. I would definitely use them again. About the best price I could find as well.
