I don't care what anyone says: To me if you don't wish to indure injury and wish to increase forearm strength with your deadlift and perform it properly-then use a smith machine. I strangely enough perform hypertension for my lower back before I perform my smith-machine deadlifts. I still do barbell romanian deadlifts but only for a couple of workouts and only for about less than 10% of all my back workouts. But everyone workouts are different and have different ideas for everything.

Well, looks like my form has been shitty with my deads too ... OK so now i not only need to work on OLY Squats but also deads .. I've been using way too much back. No wonder my back has always been so damn big/strong and legs so damn small

hey phreezer, i just started doing deads about 3 months ago. im having good progress, i went from starting at 225x6 to now doing 315x6. however, i always try to keep the barso close that it scrapes my shins and has to go over my knees. i thought that was the right form? can you please explain?

Hey phreezer,
I know this is an old post but this may be one of the most informative posts on here. Along with the rules of the board this should be mandatory reading for all newbies. Especially the one's who ask "how do I get big". I do sumo lifts with every leg workout. I can't tell you how many young kids at my gym I try to help with deadlifts. It seems they all learn from the same asshole who tells them to load the bar up and yank on it till your face turns blue, then bounce it off the floor and try it again. I try to instill in them that this is a dead lift and the weight needs to come to a complete rest before the upward motion begins again. I hope you don't mind but I am copying this info and passing it along to some of my younger friends who will be off to college this fall. As always thanks for the info. and your dedication to this board.
