Default Lifting hooks

Hey guys, have any of you guys used lifting hooks? I know I know....you guys cringe at even using straps, but the thing is, I'm getting warts removed on my hands that have been a problem for the past 6 or so years (they keep coming back). He is freezing them off. The doc not says I have to keep coming back every two weeks (I think I will only pay him 1 or 2 more visits). The shits take about a week to a week and a half to heal. Even pushing off my bed is painful as Hell.....I can't even imagine trying to DL 455. I was thinking of taping the shit outta my hands and investing in these hooks:

Do you think this will cure my problem? I literally started punching the wall as I walked outta the office when it hit me that this whole summer might be lost when I was SO set on hitting 500lbs on DL and squats.

those straps will help you hold the bar but i think if you use them too much they will hinder your forearm developement. grip strength is important to getting stronger...there must be no weak links.

Very True .. unless competing .. i don't know can you use those in competition .. well anyway .. i never use anything for help including a belt .. Probably why i never hurt myself .. I started training that way since i was very young so i'm sure my muscles are very strong from it .. I know guys who have used belts for long time and some of them hurt their backs, necks .. and forearm strength sucks ass .. I would rather keep the weight lighter for deads and build up forearms strength then to build up strength in lower back and forearms not be able to keep up .. Different story if competing i don't doubt that

You guys are missing the point here, it's not because I can't lift the bar, it's because I can't even GRIP the bar. If you've ever had a wart frozen off....it blisters for about a week. If you try to "tough it out" and lift anyways, you will just make it 10x worse and will lengthen the healing process. I was thinking of using the hooks so I could position my hands so the area that is blistered doesn't come in contact with the bar.

HOWEVER, I completely forgot, that these things won't help in things like bench press, skulls, close grip, dips, etc....pretty much everything where I'm pushing rather than pulling.

Do any of you folks know good alternatives for wart removal that don't cause pain? I know most of the OTC stuff isn't as effective, but I think I will use the OTC stuff for the rest of the summer, and the last week before I head back to school I will go back to the doc and have them frozen (I will take a week off). Hopefully, the OTC stuff will help kill some of it and the doc will take care of the remainder.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks folks.
