Default ME, DE Training Log, (Starting Over)

Here is an update of my training. It's been 8 weeks since I starting this style of
work out (WSB), and I have to say, I am loving PowerLifting. I didn't think I'd get into this to compete, but now I feel if I don't compete, I will only sell myself short. As far as when I'll compete, probably not for 8mos or so.

Back to my training. I've been doing 2 ME days and 2 DE days. At first I was working out Mon, Tues, Thrs, and Fri. (ME squat, DE bench, DE squat, ME bench). Did that for 4 weeks. Now I'm working out Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. (ME squat, ME bench, DE squat, DE bench) Much better for me.

My first 2 wks on my ME exercises, I was doing a 1-6 wave. That tore me up, so I dropped back to the 1-3RM. (3RM on GoodMornings).

The 1st 4wks I was doing 5 exercises per workout, then I bumped it up to 6 exercises and did that for 2 wks. You know what I learned? MORE IS NOT BETTER. Holy crap was I spent. This is an example of what I was doing:

ME Squat:

Good-Mornings, 3RM
BB Hack Squats, 3 x 6
SLDL, 4 x 6
Pull-Throughs, 4 x 10
Chins, 4 x 6-8
Hammer Curls, 3 x 10

I was doing that much on my speed days as well. Not only that, but I was also going too heavy on my speed work, my form was right, but my speed was not there. So I'm dropping back my speed work percentages, keeping my form and building my speed. Also, I dropping back to 4 exercises per day.

I think the thing I love most about this sport is the fact that there is such a high learning curve. Everyday I'm reading and re-reading articles trying to pick up what I may have missed, learning something new all the time. For example, something as simple as, "Less is More." and, "Do less, but better." It took me 8 wks, but it's finally sinking in. I love the constant change and having to re-evaluate my workouts. Logically looking at why I missed a lift, where my weaknesses are and working to strengthen them.

Thanks to all you bros that helped me out. Freddy, Phreezer, Bob Smith, AM.
