Default muscle strain or tear

I fairly certain i have a tear or strain in my left trap. Last week while doing deads, i felt a pop then a burning. Since then it has been burning/tingling pretty constant. When i think back, its been tingling on and off for a few months.

Aside from the obvious of not doing exercises that work the traps, what can i do to get it healed? Would there be any point in going to a dr?

As long as your trap is not bundled up around your ear{full tear},it will be a mirror tear and will heal itself given time.
It's up to your own judgment of the injury if you should see a Dr or not.
More then likely he/she will say you have a suspected trap tear,thats $45 thanks,or perhaps give you the run around his peers/colleagues,with ex rays and specialist/s,but at the end of the day it will be your decision as to what you want to do about it{operation or not}
Looks like your legs are going to improve over then next couple of months.
Take it easy and start back at the 2.5 kg dumbbells

Thanks for the reply. I highly doubt surgery is warranted at this point. I have full range of motion and the pain/tingling is limited to one spot over my shoulder blade. And since i just got back from the dentist and need a root canal, i will pass on paying a dr to tell me to take a break from shrugs.
