I tried to do a search on this but what are some thoughts on overtraining. By that i mean, when do you know or what signs tell you youve reached that point. My reason for this is i have recently switched to one muscle group per day taking one day off in the week but just blowing whatever the muscle that day out. My diet is pretty good averaging 1-2grams of protein per pound for my weight and a minimum of 2g carbs per/lbs. I feel i am overtraining just because i have been losing a lil strength, size is up a lil but nothing worth talking about. i can get into my workout plan if needed...

Read the stickies up top. Your switching to one boadypart/day idea was not a good one. Start there..... As for overtraining, it's likely a CNS thing, as that's oft the problem with the case of one body part per day trainers. READ THE STICKIES FIRST. |

Im readin the sticky's, the only reason i switched to one body part a day was because i started a supplement that said i should (had a friend put on a few pounds so i thought i would give it a try) but now i realize i was going the wrong way.

That a boy. The supp was most likely creatine based, hence water loading. Or your friend actually started eating enough and training harder. You'll still make gains on once a week, just nowhere near the optimal level.
