OK bro's, I'm seriously getting into PL and I'd like to get either a pair of HD Groove Briefs or Power Pants. Which ones do you think I should go with. By the looks of it the briefs are more for support whereas the PP give support but will also increase lifting lbs. Thanks, MBBP |

I have a pair of HD briefs, and I like them. They protect my groin (which I pulled in the past) when I got ultra wide. They are also legal in most feds that I know of. The PPs are legal in most feds, however you can't always legally wear them UNDER a suit. So if you wear them you can only have a singlet on top. |

Are your GB's dbl layer or single layer? I'm leaning toward groove briefs, but not sure if I should get dbl layer or not. My thinking is that I'm probably going to be investing in a squat suit at some point, and don't think I'll need the PP's and the suit. What do you guys think? Would it be beneficial to own both, or would it be a waste of money to buy both? MBBP |

If you are just interested in injury prevention, single poly Inzer groove briefs are plenty to protect your hips and groin. They are also legal in every fed that allows groove briefs, in case you do compete. |

I kinda agree with Freddy on the single poly briefs. That's what I have and I really like them (from Inzer). I'm not too sure but if you went with the double thick briefs and then a single squat suit you may not be legal in competition. Someone else may know more in that area. Several orginaizations I believe allow double layers but that would be three layers. Besides, I have a double layer suit from Crains and it's a bitch to get on. Way worse than the single from Inzer. So if your just training and trying to up your poundages without competing it (double thick)may be a pain in the butt. Then again I'm kinda lazy too. I would take the extra money and put it towards a nice Lever power belt or something else you don't have, rather than buy two of essentially the same thing. Peace, Mad_dawg
