Question rotated vertebrae/nerve pain

greetings
I have a question

I honestly do not know how I hurt myself but it was about Sept 2003, but I ended up with 4-6 rotated vertebrae - 2 were severe (T11,12) - it took the medical people until about March/April 2006 to find out what the problem was or so. I didn't get any answers until I went to the Mayo Spine clinic but even they had things totally wrong I found out later. But they were the first ones to come up with what was going on. Anyway - I then went to a chiropractor and for about 15 months they tried to untwist my spine, but after all that time I only got about 30% improvement. I started physical therapy in October 2005-March 2007 - but I'm still doing Physical Therapy exericses at least every other day. I've been on disability due to severe nerve pain since February 2004 - I was approved the FIRST TIME which is basically unheard of. I've tried all kinds of medications for nerve pain and I don't tolerate any of them (Lyrica, Neurontin, etc) - I've been taking narcotic pain medications, but they aren't very effective for nerve pain. Aparently the #11 (intercostal nerve) still fires pretty much all the time. I'm in a situation where I"ve pretty much exhausted everything the medical people can do for me. All they do now is give me narcotics and send me to the pain clinic, and to me that does nothing to help me. They aren't going to let me work until I get control of pain and get off the narcotics, which I want badly - my wife died suddenly in June 2006 -so I have been home all day by myself which isn't a good situation for me. I do better when I'm with people. I"ve made improvements through physical therapy - but I still have significantly rotated vertebrae and pain related io it.

what more can I do? The only thing I know I can do is to try to go back to Mayo, but that isn't an easy alternative right now. I get weekly massage therapy as well, and I've been doing exercises to strengthen my back for nearly 2 years now. I still have a long way to go.

I'm open to ideas.

I have not begun any body building, I won'ty be able to do anything like that until I am finished with rehab.

thanks so much

Rick
