Shipping A Safety Squat Bar-How would you do it? (need help here)

I am going to have someone send me a safety squat bar. How would you find something (a box or whatever) large enough to fit over it??
I was suggesting using bubble pack first and then cardboard but have no way of finding something to fit around the bar.
Any suggestions? Box? Crate?


Also we were going to use UPS ground. Would something like RPS freight be better?

When I shipped mine, I just wrapped the padding in bubble wrap and taped the hell out of it with duct tape.

Leave the bar itself exposed - it has no knurling or anything that can get hurt - it's just a huge piece of steel pipe basically.

BTW, you pay at UPS based on dimensions of package, not just weight. So keep the dimensions of the package as small as possible.

I shipped UPS ground - and it was only about $30 or so.

I was talking to Beast and the UPS store wanted $130 to send from NY to me in San Diego. That knocked the piss outta me. I am going to buy the bar from him so I just need to get this worked out.

Bro, I need your help. I am getting quotes of up to $200. This was from Roadway and Beast got a quote of $123 plus $50 to package it.
Any advice will be appreciated.
