Default Spotter or not

When I was younger, I almost always had a spotter and would train reps to utter failure.
I never use a spotter anymore and stop moving the weight when I know I won't be able
to get one more rep. Do you think that it is better to utter failure?
I guess I'm feeling stagnant, and wondering if a spotter would help push me through.

yea, spotters are always a good idea. I wish I had one more often. Remember growth comes from those last few reps, "the pain period" as Arnold called it.

Yeah a spotter is a MUST if you do heavy bench, and definately prefered with squats even with spotting bars inside a power rack, if you do squats not in a power rack with spotting bars you need a spotter for that to, but DEFINATELY on working sets of bench.
Also, you may want to do some research on failure sets, it may not be productive to do more than one or two failure sets per bodypart per workout
