Default Threw up at the gym

I threw up at the gym yesterday. The 5x5 is getting to me. I did squats 20% lighter than monday and felt a little tired. Then I went to DLs and after the 4th set I get really light headed and felt kind of like I had indigestion. Next thing I knew I was at the trash can. I took a short break, finished the last set and moved on with my workout.

I've never thrown up at the gym before. I fainted one time after doing some squats but that was like 3 or 4 years ago. I'm seeing great results from this routine and for good reason; it definitly is a lot of work.

I threw up 6 times during training on Saturday. It's cool. Just remember to eat twice as much for your postworkout shake and meal - lol.

Jeez...a 5x5 of squats and DLs on the same day? I think I would do worse than throw up and pass out. I would split them up bro, but it's up to you....IMO it's just way too taxing on the body.

The squats are lighter and not a serious exertion. It's actually a nice warm up before the dead.

It may sound weird but it actually felt good. I like that feeling when you leave the gym and almost feel like you are floating because your leg muscles are so tired. Its takes hard work to accomplish that feeling week in and week out. I like to actually feel like I made a difference by going to the gym that day.

Read the stickies, and the other posts about the 5x5.

Default I hear ya

I started back working out last August after about 7 years out of the gym. I started with the 5X5 program and thought I was literally going to pass out the first day. I did throw up all my protein shake that I had just downed in the parking lot as I wobbled to the car.

Question question from a lady

Hey guys. Besides the "stuff" you are all taking. Why do we throw up after intense work outs? Something that can be done to avoid this - when not on any special supplements?

I think its just a natural reaction to working your body to its extreme. My girl used to run track and they make you run so much that almost everyone throws up at first. If you are like me and never do cardio, try running a full 2 miles on a tred mill non stop and see if you dont throw up, I know I would. Also, I always eat some tuna and potatoes before I go to the gym. Working out on a totally empty stomache doesn't seem like a good idea. That might have something to do with it.

Generally when the training load applied exceeds testicular fortitude by greater than 3x, the body will vomit in an effort to make an excuse for its lack of sack. I generally make sure I bring my large set to the gym - something a few of the hurling contingent might consider.

I puked on my arm leaving the gym 2 years ago. I lifted and went out and got on my motorcycle. Puked a few minutes later
