I'd take anywhere from 1-3 weeks... It won't hurt you... Just make sure that you don't turn it into a longer break.

It takes about 2-3 weeks for an advanced athlete to reacquire the strength lost from a 1 week layoff. So if you're interested in strength, strongly reconsider taking time off. If you're feeling burned out, take an easy week or two or three instead. If however, strength doesn't concern you, a week or two won't "kill you", so you'll have to look at your priorities. |
