Default Trying to get back to deads... Advice?

I have injured my lower back deadlifting in the past.Used to love them.
I have had an MRI done and the person who read it said aside from some minor bulging disks my lower back is in good shape.
I am pretty much pain free now, can squat but bent rows are tough. Seated cable rows are out. I would like to get back dead lifting after trying a few unsuccessful attempts over the past couple of years.
The problem is that my lower back fatigues and gets weak very easily while doing extensions or trying to deadlift(esp. at the bottom of the pull). I would be happy if this is just an indication of erector weakness..thats fixable.
I do abs 2-3 times a weak and they seem pretty strong.
Phreezer and Hoggs posts were very helpful and have inspired me to give this another go.

Dude, since you hurt your back doing deads, more than once, first you should reveiw your technique. There's many more muscles involved in back support than abs and erectors. Here's where I'd start: pullups, side bends(obliques), abductor & adductors, standing cable chest presses, standing cable rows( last two exercises are performed in perfect posture, standing upright, with no external support), lunges(with perfect posture), russian twists(decline board), hyperextensions(take it easy). Stretching should also play a BIG role in your training. Also your posture throughout the day..standing,sitting and sleeping.
Your test will be: perform seated cable rows, bent rows, and good mornings...WITHOUT PAIN--during or next few days following. Once this is accomplished...start to do deads(light weight of coarse) while someone who's qualified watches your form.
One of the keys with rehab is to take it slow, and progress gradually....I know...this sucks, but if you hurt yourself again you;ll have to go back to the beggining and start all over again. Good luck!!!
