Wink anavar drug interactions

I am considering taking anavar to help tighten up, get rid of some subq water retention. I already have a lot of muscle and am pretty lean (around 18%). I get asked all the time by people who don't work out if I am a body builder. but i don't feel dry enough or tight enough. I of course am my own worst critic and feel I have a lot of improvenment to make...like making my abs pop!

I have consistently for a year and a half been in the gym 6 days a week doing at least 40 min cardio and 5 days of weight training. I don't eat anything other than chicken, tilapia, whey protein and egg whites for my protein. And for carbs I eat oatmeal and plain baked sweet potatoes with the occasional red potatorethrown in after a workout. I obsessively measure my portions, even though I know what 4oz of sweet potatoes looks like. I only season with mrs dash, mustard, balsamic, pepper and I can't believe it's not butter spray. I get about a gallon of water a day in. I recently added in a little salt because I had virtually none in my diet and that was actually working in reverse for me and causing excess water retention.

I am not a saint and do have a tendancy to binge on my cheat meal days on a whole package of cookies! anyway that being said I have acromegaly (a disease which causes super elevated GH and IGF-1 ) I am on medicine called Sandostatin LAR to bring these levels down. The last blood work showed my IGF-1 down to around 460 (the high end of normal for my age and gender are around 380/410 depending on the lab's ranges) this is much better than the IGF-1 being around 1000 before. Obviously I am lucky in a sense because I have a natural tap into extra GH, which is why I think I am so naturally muscular. I want to take advantage of this and compete and actually get some rewards for dealing with the B.S. this has caused in my life. Would taking something like anavar be okay with a GH inhibitor like Sandostatin?

Thankyou for any help advice you may provide.

Hey, interesting condition you have...How is it living and training while not on your medication?

Is your acromegaly from a tumor? If so, then MAYBE the anavar could increase the size of the tumor??

I'm not too sure, it wouldn't seem to be problem apart from the above-mentioned, but I think your best bet would be to talk to a doctor and tell him/her exactly what you'll be taking, for how long, etc. I know some doctors who haven't even heard of anavar!! So maybe go and speak to an endocrinologist too, since they would certainly know if the two drugs interacted in a negative way...

Yes the extra GH is from a tumor. They tried to remove it in September but could only get about 50% due to its being wrapped around the corotid artery. But they got all that was on the pituitary and my pituitary functions normally.

Being off the medicine is NOT fun! IGF-1 levels that high are problematic and cause everything from extreme lethargy, to joint pain, soft tissue swelling, major water retention, acne, bone widening. I don't look like what I looked like ten years ago. My feet had gone from a 9 to an 11... Thankfully I am back down into a 9.5 sometimes, mostly a 10! I wll post pictures of what my hands looked like before and after surgery its interesting. Needless to say I feel much better when my levels are where they are at now. My endo right now is pretty conservative. I think I would need to talk to an endo who is more knowledgible about AAS. But i wanted to get some opinions here before taking that step...maybe from a senior forum member?

I just wanted to add that the size of the tumor does not effect the amount of GH. My tumor was 50% smaller after surgery and still produced just as much GH and therefor IFG-1. So an increase in size would not be dangerous so to speak . I was wanting to know more about drug interactions. I am putting pictures of my hands before and after surgery as examples of soft tissue swelling.

The first two are before and the last two from after.

Wow...Not fun at all, I would have thought joint recovery would increase though, but its one of those "you can have too much of a good thing" things, I suppose...I don't know how some of these doctors get along in their line of work, you'd think someone who specializes in hormones would be a bank of knowledge on such powerful ones, such as AAS, and their interactions with other hormones.

Hopefully someone who has more answers than questions will respond to this...sorry for my lack of knowledge...

Wow, seems a bit complicated. Being a RN, and know a little about the complexity of the feedback mechanism of the pituitary gland, I would not take any anabolics with your problem. I know that ADH (Anti-diuretic Hormone) is also released from the posterior pituaitary. ADH essentially helps the body hold on to water in times of need. Since you have a tumor effecting your GF release, then maybe it also effects your ADH secretion as well, and you tend to hold water (SIADH) Lab test could confirm this.. Just be honest with your endocrinologists... never be afraid to be up front and honest with doctors.. they can't get you in trouble.. It is only ethical that they give you the facts.. just ask, you'll be surprised that the response porbably will not be as bad as most would think.
Good Luck!
Keep up the hard work!
