Default Building booty??

Can a woman build a butt by training or will it cause to lose the butt they have? What exercises are recommended to build a bigger butt?

Squats, step-ups, stiffleg deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts will all help build a round shapely butt.

Lunges are great too

If a butt is built from training, it will be muscle which will of course look better than the fat it is replacing

Definitely. My wife recently graduated from tapes to "real" training. She does squats, lunges, steps, and stiffleg dl's. and I think her "booty" is quite nice. and NO I will not post pictures.

BTW, Bob, whats the diff between SLDL's and Romanian?

Bar placement. SLDLs you hold the bar in your hands. Rom you position the bar low on your delts, like a PL squat.

No, that would be a good morning. RDL's involve more pushing of the ass backwards and, also, a bent knee stance, whereas the SLDL is, lo and behold, with straight leg and more of a rounding of the low back to lower the bar.

Hmm, my mistake. I perform RDLs then, but always called them SLDLs.

Get her to squat and do SLDLs/RDLs. Squats 3 sets of 8-10, RDLs for 2 sets of 8-10.

BS- if she is just concerned with butt development (not overall leg development), wouldn't lunges be more effective than squats? Chances are slim that she will go as deep as she should on squats to fully recruit the glutes and IMO lunges work the glutes as well as squats do. Lunges of course do almost nothing for quad development though.

Since when do lunges do nothing for quad development?

The ass is not something that you can work without drawing other muscles into it. Shes gonna have to suck it up and realize that if she wants a firm, perky ass then she is going to have to develop either her quads or hamstrings or both.

I just meant compared to squats. I have done a workout with heavy walking lunges and no squats and my ass was so sore the next day I could barely sit on the toilet. A good leg workout with squats though makes my quads crazy sore in addition to my butt. I am not trying to argue about DOMS or anything, but lunges recruit the quad less than squats
